Brain Symmetry in Alpha Band When Watching Cuts in Movies

چکیده
The purpose of this study is to determine if there asymmetry in the brain activity between both hemispheres while watching cuts movies. We presented videos with 36 participants, registered electrical through electroencephalography (EEG) and analyzed frontal, somatomotor, temporal, parietal occipital areas. EEG power alpha (8–13 Hz) were based on 4032 epochs (112 from × participants) each hemisphere. On average, we found negative asymmetry, indicating a greater left hemisphere right temporal opposite was somatomotor However, high inter-subjects variability, these asymmetries did not seem be significant. Our results suggest that audiovisuals do provoke any specific asymmetrical band viewers. conclude when decoding audiovisual content may more related narrative than formal style.

Making Movies: Watching Software Evolve through Visualisation
This paper introduces an innovative visualisation technique for exposing the software defects that develop as a software project evolves. The application of this technique to a large-scale industrial software project is described together with the way in which the technique was modified to enable integration with the software configuration management process. The paper shows how a number of for...
متن کاملDoes Watching Smoking in Movies Promote Teenage Smoking?
Compared to adolescents with low exposure to smoking in movies, those with high exposure are about three times as likely to try smoking or become smokers. We have observed this effect in nationally representative samples using cross-sectional and longitudinal designs. This effect remains statistically significant after controlling for numerous other traditional risk factors, such as personality...
متن کاملWhere people look when watching movies: Do all viewers look at the same place?
Magnification around the most important point of a movie scene (center of interest-COI) might aid people with visual impairments that cause resolution loss. This will be effective only if most people look at the same place when watching a movie. We recorded the eye movements of 20 normally sighted subjects as each watched six movie clips, totaling 37.5 min. More than half of the time the distri...

متن کاملWatching synaptogenesis in the adult brain.
Although the lifelong addition of new neurons to the olfactory bulb and dentate gyrus of mammalian brains is by now an accepted fact, the function of adult-generated neurons still largely remains a mystery. The ability of new neurons to form synapses with preexisting neurons without disrupting circuit function is central to the hypothesized role of adult neurogenesis as a substrate for learning...
